Sorteo, regalo y botones artesanales

Antes de hacer la necesaria pausa del año para recuperar el equilibrio me gustaría dejar constancia de un sorteo especial. Se trata de  heydayhandmade, tienda de Etsy dedicada inicialmente a la fabricación de botones forrados de tela pero que gracias al trabajo constante y al esfuerzo ha diversificado su producción y es fácil encontrar en ella tanto materiales de costura (telas, alfileteros, etc) como productos terminados y diversos  (bolsos, anillos, sellos de goma, etc).

Con motivo de haber logrado ser mencionada  por dos veces en las newsletters de Etsy y en su página principal Katie de heydayhandmade ha decidido hacer un sorteo cuyos requisitos de participación son tan sencillos como dejar un comentario en su web, indicando, eso sí, nombre completo o en sustitución de éste, el nombre de la tienda, si la tienes, o un nombre de usuario; es un sorteo para todo el mundo.

Lo único que pide a cambio es: 

-twittear sobre el sorteo, 

-incluir el sorteo en una de las entradas de tu blog o enlazarlo dentro del mensaje sin más

-publicarlo en facebook.

Los regalos del sorteo los podéis ver en el enlace que he incluído más arriba y la verdad no sé con cuál me quedaría yo porque los botones y las telas me gustan por igual.

Se me están ocurriendo un par de ideas donde quedarían muy bien...

Draw, giveaway and handmade buttons

Before the needed  year's break for regaining to me the balance I would like to record a special draw. This is from heydayhandmade, an Etsy shop initially dedicated to the manufacture of cloth-covered buttons but thanks to the constant work and effort it has diversified its production and it is easy to find in this shop both sewing materials (fabric, pincushions, etc ) and various products completed (bags, rings, rubber stamps, etc). 

On the occasion of achieved by the shop to be mentioned twice in the Etsy newsletters and on its Front Page, Katie from heydayhandmade has decided to make a draw whose requirements are as simple as leaving a comment on her website, you have to indicate full name, or replacing it, the name of the store, if you have one, or a user name; it is a draw for everybody. 

All she ask in return is: 

-tweet about the draw, 

-Include the mention of the draw in one of the entries in your blog or link it within the message

-publish it on facebook. 

You can see the gifts of the draw in the link I included above and  I do really not know which to choose because the buttons and fabrics like me alike. 

I'm thinking a couple of ideas which would be fine ...

Aniversario

Hoy se cumple el primer año desde que abrí LPECADMS.

No ha sido un año tan productivo como planeé debido a la falta de tiempo. Desde entonces y hasta hoy hay asuntos que son prioritarios y tengo que seguir dedicándole al taller ratitos que voy sacando cuando puedo y que hace que a veces el día a día sea un poco a contrarreloj. Combinar tantas variables con mantener la calma interior es algo difícil pero sí puedo decir que lo voy consiguiendo.

Este primer año me ha ayudado a aprender cosas de mí y de mi taller. Soy consciente de que no tengo muchas visitas, consecuencia de que no actualizo tan a menudo como me gustaría pero también he aceptado a pesar de mis ganas de crecer, que este tipo de blog requiere mucho más trabajo detrás.

Especialmente en lo que se refiere a subir artículos propios de Le Petit... También he decidido que no estoy dispuesta a sacrificar el espíritu y la calidad que quiero obtener de los productos que voy mostrando por la cantidad de visitas.

Esto me ha hecho valorar la paciencia y ser un poco más condescendiente conmigo misma, a entender mis circunstancias a pesar de que al otro lado del blog lo que queda es solo lo que se ve.

Con esto no quiero decir que nadie tenga que ponerse en mi lugar. Simplemente quiero decir que a pesar de todas las dificultades, básicamente de tiempo, que me voy encontrando por el camino no pienso dejarlo.

Que sigo pensando en los tocados, las diademas, los broches y un sinfin de cosas más que se me ocurren que quiero hacer y sigo teniendo ilusión. Me gustan todas las etapas: probar combinaciones de elementos para hacer una diadema, superar los contratiempos que me surgen al fabricar un broche, planear la fotos que voy a hacer, pensar en el texto que voy a escribir, etc.

Por supuesto me encantaría que mi blog tuviera una gran acogida y que los artículos que hago gustasen y que encima se pudieran vender pero debo recordarme que esto no sucede en este momento por las razones que ya he comentado. No sé qué pasará en el futuro pero sí sé que poquito a poco voy trabajando, sabiendo con seguridad que lo que hago lo hago sacando lo mejor de mí y siendo exigente con el resultado. Soy consciente de que este blog necesita que yo haga muchas cosas con él pero ya llegarán.
Confío en que de alguna manera pueda darle el empujón que necesita LPECADMS y pueda mostrar la idea que tengo de ello en mi cabeza a través de estas entradas. De momento sigo aprendiendo, consultando, abriendo bien los ojos a lo que me rodea, reconociendo que una buena idea puede estar en cualquier parte: un objeto, una frase, una persona, un gesto, un anuncio, un libro, un cuadro...La posibilidades son tantas...

Hace un año, todavía lo recuerdo: ¡Qué nervios! ¡Qué sensación de vértigo! ¡Qué responsabilidad! ¡Y qué ilusión!

Mi deseo para el siguiente año es hacer que este blog esté un poco más gordito siempre con ilusión, más calidad y disfrutando.

Anniversary

Today is the first anniversary since I opened LPECADMS.
It wasn't a productive year as I planned due to lack of time. Since then to today there are issues that are priorities and I have to continue devoting time to the atelier from little times that I'm taking when I can but this becomes every day in a battle against the clock.
Combining many variables to maintain inner calm is hard but I can say that I getting.

The first year has helped me to learn about myself and my workshop. I realize that I haven't got many visitors, due to I don't update as often as I would want to do it. But I accepted, despite my desire to grow, this type of blog requires much more work behind the entries. Particularly to post about own items of Le Petit... 

I've also decided I'm not willing to sacrifice the spirit and quality of products I want to get for LPECADMS in exchange for growing the number of visits.

This has made me appreciating the patience and being a little forgiving to myself, understanding my circumstances regardless from the other side of the blog there's nothing more than it can be seeing.
This is not to say that people have to put themselves in my place. I just want to say despite all difficulties, basically time, I'm finding along the way I'm not quitting it.

I keep thinking in headdresses, tiaras, brooches and a lot of things that occur to me that I want to do and I still have hope. I like all the stages of the process: combining elements to make a garland, overcoming setbacks for making a pin, planning the photos that I'll take for the post, thinking on the text I'm going to write and so on.

Of course I'd love my blog had a great reception and the items were liked by the people, and furthermore they were sold but I must remind myself this does not happen at this time for reasons I mentioned. I don't know what will happen in the future but I really know that I work gradually, being sure that I do what I do giving the best of me and demanding with the result. I realize that this blog needs me to do many things with it but we'll get

I hope somehow I can give it the necessary boost to LPECADMS and I can show the idea I have about the atelier in my head through these entries.
For the moment I'm still learning, consulting, opening my eyes around me, recognizing that a good idea can be anywhere: an object, a phrase, a person, a gesture, an advertisement, a book, a painting...There are many possibilities...

A year ago I still remember it: What feeling of nervousness! What vertigo feeling! What a responsibility! And how much enthusiasm!

My wish for the next year is to make this blog a little chubby, always with enthusiasm, more quality and ever enjoying it.

Cumpleaños feliz...con Spiderman

El fin de semana pasado celebramos otro cumple infantil. El de la hermana de la entrada de Cumpleaños feliz. Lo celebramos con retraso porque debido a compromisos familiares previos tuvo que quedar pospuesto hasta esta fecha.

Como a esta niña le gusta mucho Spiderman (y a la otra pero la mayor fue la que descubrió primero Club Penguin) el tema fue el personaje de Marvel libremente interpretado por mí, claro.

No podían faltar las banderitas para decorar la comida:

Volví a recurrir a los banderines de Baballa (ya de paso le echáis un vistazo a su blog que seguro que encontráis contenidos muy entretenidos y útiles).

Con los hermanos pequeños te arriesgas a ser menos original pero tampoco puedes defraudar. La pequeña protagonista contaba con ellos.

El resultado de la mesa con las banderitas fue más o menos éste:

Me hubiera gustado algo más original para cubrir la mesa pero tuvimos que recurrir al mantel que se ve en la foto porque todavía nos quedan cajas de mudanza por traer a casa y la otra opción que se me ocurrió podía poner en peligro los vasos con las bebidas. Había pensado hacer una malla simulando una tela de araña pero podía ser poco estable a la hora de colocar los vasos y cuencos y el tiempo siempre escaso no permitió más experimentos. 

Era un poco raro ver posturas y actitudes tan "guerreras" de Spiderman sobre la comida pero el tema era el tema.

Como la protagonista también lo esperaba con ganas y no era tan divertido utilizar el pingüino de su hermana mayor uno de sus regalos fue éste:

La nota negativa la puso el calor que casi a finales de junio es bastante intenso y más aún con la ola que sufrimos esos días. Pero nada impidió que disfrutaran como enanos.

Happy birthday...with Spiderman

Last weekend we celebrated another birthday's party. It was for the sister of the post Happy Birthday.

We celebrated it late due to previous family commitments.

As this child loves Spiderman (and the other sister but this one, the older, was the first of them to find Club Penguin) Marvel's character was party's theme, freely interpreted by me, of course.

They could not miss the flags to decorate the food:

 

I resorted again to Baballa's flags (you can take the advantage and visit her blog, sure you'll find amusing and useful contents).

With younger siblings you take the risk of being not much original but you can't disappoint them. The protagonist was waiting for them.

The result of the table with the flags was about this:

   

I would like something more original to cover the table but we had to resort to the tablecloth you see in the picture because we still have bring moving boxes at home and the other option that I thought it could jeopardize the glasses with drinks. I had thought to do a mesh that simulated a spider's web but it could be unstable for placing the cups and bowls and the always short time did not allow more experiments.

It was a little strange to see Spiderman's positions and attitudes so warlike on the food but the theme was the theme.

As the protagonist also looked forward it and it was not fun to use the penguin of her older sister one of her gifts was this:

The downside was putting by the heat, at the end of June it's still pretty intense and we suffered a wave of it that day. But nothing prevented they have a whale of a time.

Promo de bolso+pin

Hoy voy a hablar del blog de otra persona. Es un blog que he descubierto hace tiempo y cuando empecé a leer las entradas no pude dejarlo hasta que lo leí entero.

Es un blog muy diverso pero que en esencia muestra los trabajos artesanales de Ishtar Olivera, su creadora. Desde sellos, bolsos e ilustraciones a tutoriales, consejos, fotografía e inspiraciones varias y todo con ese toque de luz especial que podría decirse que es la luz Ishtar.

Me gusta porque la autora tiene estilo propio, eso que con el tiempo se acaba diciendo que "tiene el sello" de la persona, algo que me parece bastante dificil de lograr. Es cierto que el mundo blog ha dado la oportunidad a muchas personas a mostrar sus talentos y creatividades pero también es cierto que entre tantas opciones la singularidad es un terreno arduo de conquistar. Tener tu toque personal no es fácil.

El estilo, a medio camino entre lo näif y lo natural si hubiera que definirlo de alguna forma -aunque no soy partidaria de definir nada demasiado-, da un resultado entrañable y atractivo a sus diseños y trabajos.

Y por si fuera poco este mes está de promoción en su tienda de Etsy: Por la compra de un bolso de Conejitos de la naturaleza, regala un pin de Gato feliz.

Promo bag and pin

Today I will talk about someone else's blog. It's a blog that I discovered a long time ago and when I started reading the entries I could not stop until I read it over.

This blog is very diverse but in essence it shows Ishtar Olivera's crafts, her creator. From stamps, bags and illustrations to tutorials, tips, photography and several inspirations and all of them with that special highlight that's arguably the Ishtar's light.

I like it because the authoress has his own style, so that over time people say "has the hallmarks"of the person, something I think is quite difficult to achieve. It's true that the world's blog has given to many people the opportunity to showcase their talents and creative but it is also true that among the many choices the singularity is a difficult terrain to conquer. Having your personal touch is not easy.

The style, halfway between naïve and natural -if I had to define it in some way, although I am not in favor of defining anything too-, gives an attractive and endearing design to her work.

 
And to top it off this month's promotion in her Etsy store: For the purchase of a bag of Bunnies in nature, she gives a  pin of Happy cat.

LPECADMS ha caído en una red

En una red social. LPECADMS ya tiene un hueco en Facebook.
También he añadido un botón "me gusta" al final de cada entrada.
En lo personal no frecuento mucho Facebook, al final del día no me queda mucho tiempo. Pero tenía curiosidad por incluir a LPECADMS. ¡Quizás a partir de ahora me empiece a enganchar a las redes sociales!

LPECADMS has fallen in a net.

In a social network. LPECADMS already has a little space in Facebook. I also added a "I like it" button at the end of each post.

I don't use frequently Facebook in my private life. There's no time at the end of the day. But I was curious to include LPECADMS. Maybe since now I start to engage in social networks!

Tulipanes

Mis tulipanes morados han florecido por fin.

Es una pena que duren tan poquito pero la naturaleza es así.

Parece que fue hace nada que los planté en octubre y quedaba tanto hasta verlos salir...

Han sufrido una reforma, las macetas llegaron a quedar cubiertas de polvo de ladrillo y cemento, estuvieron temporalmente apiladas unas encima de las otras y a pesar de todo algunos tulipanes han salido adelante con toda su belleza, incólumes.

La Naturaleza es sabia. La Naturaleza es fuerte.

Tulips

At long last my tulips bloomed.

It's unfortunate that they live so short time but Nature is that way.

It seems it was yesterday when I sowed them in October and it were necessary so much time to spend for seeing growing them.

They underwent a improvement on home, the flowerpots were covered by brick's and cement dust, they were temporary put into a pile and in spite of these handicaps some tulips born with their absolut beautiful, intact.

Nature is wise. Nature is strong.

Cumpleaños feliz

Este fin de semana pasado celebramos en casa un cumpleaños infantil. La homenajeada en cuestión suponía que algo pasaba en casa pero no lo pudo comprobar hasta que llegó y lo vio todo montado.

Motivada por las cosas artesanales hechas por tantas mentes y manos creativas decidí remangarme y en tiempo record tratar de hacer un cumpleaños temático, o más bien debería decir un cumpleaños con reminiscencias temáticas de Club Pengüin, juego on line que la tiene muy ilusionada.

Lo primero que hice aunque no tenía que ver con el tema fue recurrir a una plantilla de banderines con letras que generosamente Baballa compartió desde su blog.

Gracias, Baballa, porque con esto realmente fue mucho más rápido que crearlo de cero. El efecto de fiesta personalizada creo que es incuestionable y mucho más emotivo para el/la protagonista.

Otra idea que se me ocurrió fue hacer unas banderitas para pinchar en los alimentos que íbamos a poner y darle un toque alegre y festivo a la comida. Aquí sí que me iba acercando al tema de la fiesta.

A partir de los dibujos que aparecen en la web cree estos modelos que imprimí en papel-cartulina, recorté con tijeras especiales y pegué convenientemente a los palitos de las brochetas.

Este fue el resultado:

Por último y casi a la desesperada por la falta de tiempo me fabriqué un iglú que aquí sí se debe decir que improvisado, con cartón y papel seda, muchas capas de papel seda blanco, que coloqué sobre un montón de capas de papel seda celeste a modo de escenario helado con hielo azulado. Decidí rematarlo forrando la mesa ya de por sí blanca con plástico transparente, para que hiciera el efecto brillante del hielo y a la vez la protegiese de los accidentes. Y por no poner los platos directamente sobre la mesa que quedaba un poco soso.

Al iglú, a falta de otro material mejor pues todavía tengo bastantes cosas fuera de casa a causa de la reforma, le pinté los bloques con rotulador negro y finalmente hice brochetas con chuches que pinché en el iglú.

Las brochetas junto con recortar todas las etiquetas de puffles y pingüinos, fue la parte más dura de confeccionar y al final, pesaban tanto las brochetas que hundieron el iglú un poco. Pero aguantó toda la sesión a pesar de la construcción tan frágil.

El toque final en toda fiesta infantil que se precie lo dieron los globos de colores.

Tal y como era necesario, el regalo incluyó una tarjeta notificándole la suscripción al tan ansiado Club.

La fiesta fue divertida y animada. Mientras, Doña Croqueta hizo gala de la capacidad de abstracción que la caracteriza.

Happy birthday

This past weekend we celebrated at home a child birthday party. The guest of honor in question supossed that something was different at home but she could not see until she came there and saw it all assembled.

Motivated by the craft things made by many creative minds and hands I decided to roll up my sleeves and try in record time to make a thematic birthday's party,  or I should rather say a birthday's party with thematic reminiscent of The Club Penguin, online game about she's very excited.

The first thing I though I had to do with the subject was to resort to flags with letters that Baballa shared generously from his blog.

The picture has my watermark but only to authenticate the photo. The design of the flag is from Baballa and so is indicated by her signing in each flag, although the size of the picture here doesn't let appreciate it.

Thanks, Baballa, because it really was much faster than creating it from scratch. The effect of personalized party is unquestionable and I think it's much more emotional for the main protagonist.

I had another idea. It was to make some little flags to click on the food we were offer to guests and so we gave  to the food a joyous and festive touches. Here, I really was approaching to the theme of the party.

From the pictures displayed on the website of the game I created these models, I printed on paper-cardboard, cutted with special scissors and pasted properly to the skewers' sticks.

This was the result:

Finally, almost desperated about lack of time for me I made an igloo that here I must say makeshift igloo, made of cardboard and tissue paper, a lot of layers of white tissue paper, which I put on a lot of layers of pale blue tissue paper, as a freezing stage with blue ice. I decided to top it lining the table already white, with clear plastic to make the glossy effect of the ice while it protects the table from accidents. And not to put dishes directly on the table that was a little bland.

The igloo, for want of a better material because I have yet many things away because of the reform of the flat, I painted the blocks with black marker and finally I made skewers with sweets I pricked in the igloo.

Doing the skewers and cutting all the labels of puffles and penguins was the hardest part of work and ultimately skewers were so heavy that sank a little the igloo. But it held throughout the session despite its fragile construction.

The ultimate effect of the table was more or less like this:

I would like to make the tags as the dishes or including the names of the food but it could not possible to do more in just three evenings.

The final touch to any children's party that claims it was given by the colored balloons.

Needless to say, one of the gifts for the protagonist was a subscription to the aforementioned desired online game, card-delivery included.

The party was fun and lively. Meanwhile, Miss Croquette was able to demonstrate their capacity for abstraction that characterizes her.
