Ha sido Halloween

Todo empezó de la forma más tonta. "¡Nooo, si yo no voy a celebrar Halloween..!"

¡Qué monotonía, si no!:

This was Halloween

It all began in the most silly way. "Nooo, I'm not going to celebrate Halloween...!"
"I don not want much fuss mount" "Weeell, put a few ornaments do not lose anything...we also have last year's. But without cooking any special menu, just decoration!"
Ha! Sometimes it seems that I don't know myself. Actually at this point of my life I should recognize that I don't like same things twice.
Some people may think: "What fun!" "There's always something different!" "How much work, eh!". It's more o less right -I don't lack modesty either-because the work must be done, and yes, I like to complicate my life doing these things. I also enjoy it, but above all to do the same things always is supremely bored to me. If we talk about fun, repetition is synonymous with boredom.
So I started to put different garlands since last year. I didn't want to use the pumpkins' garland. What monotony, oh no!

The idea seemed simple, and it was, but took longer than I expected. Especially cutting, folding, and hanging on each square of tissue paper, which must be handled with care because it rips/flies/twists itself at the earliest opportunity.

In a separate session we hang on the ornaments from other years. Now we could repeat because we had something new.
A friendly ghost around here:
A not scary felt pumpkin with her spider around there:
And fun-loving bats that alighted themselves where they wanted to be:

I thought bats hanging upside down but it seems they wished to be seen at all costs. I said they were funky. They wanted party.
Not everything was going to be fun and good vibes. There was also room for the most solemn of all of them. I think this ghost doesn't smile because it comes from far away, he sailed many seas and toured many castle's rooms and towers and perhaps he is tired. This is because it looks so serious:
Luminous pumpkins lit up the dark night light:
There can not be scare this night, just a bit of healthy fear.
The stars of the day were the mummies. They appeared this way in the morning:

They knew themselves protagonists because one of them hailed as celebrities and in general they looked very relaxed.
Mummies' idea emerged from here. Baballa showed a link on her blog to a tutorial that explained how to do them.  More cute and easy it was impossible.
Thanks, Baballa, for showing the idea and thanks to Camilla Fabbri for uploading the original tutorial. We had children at home and mummies were a surprise gift.
They entertained quite up with them inventing stories and putting them in incredible positions.
[Thanks of course to Little Ant and Shuriken for providing me the materials]
And you remember I agreed to decorate but not cooking a special Halloween menu?
I couldn't keep my word either. Casually I discovered, in the Lidl's newsletter (not all is going be glamorous and luxury) horrific recipes so I decided to take some of them, which seemed easiest to do.
In the picture you can see:
Eye's soup. (Mozzarella balls with olives and homemade tomato sauce)
Poisonous mushrooms (Eggs baked with  a tomato hat, over them I put some mayonnaise points but they disappeared alone, and over a fresh lettuce)
Witch's punch (Lemon-lime, orange juice, cherry nectar and icing glacé cherry inside. The edge of the glass was impregnated with grenadine syrup to give it a bloody look but in the pictures it has been drained)
Severed fingers (Sausages with ketchup and sheets of almond as nails. This was the most disgusting).
A truly monstrous dinner .
For the dessert, fake churros but very delicious and very simply. This was the less Halloween meal but they tasted good. Thanks too to Munchkin Munchies for sharing the recipe.

The dinner was late because among cooking, making up each other, dressing and going out for a walk (to use costumes) it was eleven but it was an appropriate hour for a night like that.

Next time...!...Aaaah, next time...It's better to say nothing. ;)

Regalo

No quería perder detalle.

Gift

Is there a better way to finish the week than with a gift?
This was what I found in my mailbox when I opened it on last Friday, when I get home after work:

Certainly several people know the style of this craft: Ishtar Olivera. Washi tape really brighten up all that it touches. It on depends the taste of the user. We know Ishtar has good taste then the result is always good.

My first impulse was to open quickly the package, but no, no, no, photos are always first. So I held back and began to photograph everything. I didn't want to lose any detail.

The gift was well wrapped both on the outside and the inside. I love purple color, I dont' mind the shade, I like them all. She hit up in the inner package. It came with a note, some words from her. It was complete in all details and highly customized.

Color and more color. Color everywhere. That touch of fuchsia (neon) washi tape is irresistible.

A richly decorated stand for a very cute cat:

I love cats. It was a hit after another.

I wore it inmediately. There was no reason to wait. It is totally ishtar.

It's great because I wear clothes in that color and I missed a pin in blue.

I usually wear necklaces, earrings, bracelets or rings coordinated with my clothes but I like using brooches too. I like simplicity and brooches usually meet two important conditions: they provide a simply and striking appearance. They are an alternative to the usual accessories and they get significantly brigthen up an outfit with just one piece. And if they are handmade much better.

Thank you very much, Ishtar, it has made me happy. I've already put on me a lot and I love it.

Remembering holidays

It's November and when I see holiday's photos I find amazing how quickly time passes. This is not something new because every year the feeling persists, especially in autumn and spring when nature and environment tell us that something else is starting.I look at the photos and I remember:
gondola's rides in Portugal,

landscapes where the eye can see far away in Madrid,

a blue flower in the backyard,

some unusual vintage hydrangea across the courtyard,

lazy naps carefree,

walks by the seashore in Lugo,

relaxing watching the tide and let the mind find its rythm itself,

watching sunset in Orense,

feeling the warm sand between your feet in Portugal,

making recreational plans for the next day,

snorkeling for the first time.

I think part of the secret of the holidays is to regain sensations.People who live in big cities usually use the senses in the background, in "survival mode", always paying attention to something else: TV, music, cold or heat, that we change with the heating or air conditioning; rain, we avoid it with the umbrella; we live a little off our physical body. Sometimes the connection is also broken by lack of enough time to experience the feelings we have at hand.I had never done snorkeling before and this summer was the first time. First impressions were disconcerting but later became one of the favorite activities (I'd say THE preferred activity); yet I still remember those evenings like a dream.I think is needed essential for us  to do things for the first time, nice, I mean, and healthy, if it's  possible. This will keep alive the illusion and the ability to surprise in ourselves, making us flexible and tolerant.

Children are in constant touch with their feelings because they are discovering the world and it is infinite
at their age, permanent filled of surprises, indomitable, a challenge, a place where there is much to conquer, to improve, to share, to enjoy .
I like to keep the child alive in me.

Photography course from "Almost seriously" - Casi en serio (Jackie Rueda)

With finished holidays perhaps the first  post should be about them: how much I've rested, the places I've seen and how satisfying they have been for me.

But I alter the order of the factors to talk about a photography course I'm very excited with. I was aware of Jackie Rueda and her blog, Casi en serio, (Almost seriously) through Papelidades, another blog full of good taste, goog pictures and good ideas. It was by reference to La Vuelta al Mundo (The World Tour). This is a group of photography, organized from Casi en serio, where her author proposes a monthly theme and the members of the group share then their photos, an idea that I find very motivating, easy to do, and a good chance to have fun with people from all over the world.

Periodically Jackie is organizing a photography course online, in Spanish, during four weeks and with a very reasonable price.

I encouraged, after visiting her blog and seeing some of her tutorials, the simplicity for handling and transmitting concepts that increases greatly with her ability to relate to the people. If we add the quality of her photographs and her sensitivity and good taste with which they are made you start thinking that you can actually get more from your camera and an entire world of possibilities opens to you, sure. I'll look at my camera and at my surrounding with new eyes.

To enroll it's just necessary to be in front of your computer at indicated time by Jackie, well-doing the calculation time because she's in Canada -there are websites online that immediately show you the correct hour and you don't have to break your head in it-...and luck: the registration period lasted 5 minutes! Such has been the number of people interested in the course that in such a short time the seats were sold out.
Sensing if there was a specific time to sign up for the course it would be because it would be highly sought after I sat in front of the screen half hour before the time -I didn' want to distract myself with anything- and I opened the sites and applications that I might need to prove everything worked well but despite all these precautions I had a few nerves. I had a technical problem that promised me to let me off the course. It had been a few minutes since the starting time for registration and the browser was dumb: the link for enrollment didn't appear!

Thanks to the ability of the Little Ant with their natural environment, i.e. the computer science -this man was a bit in another life and that explain he moves so fast in the bowels of the software and hardware- I could see the necessary link; I feared the worst. That day I really was liked by the Fortune because I had my sign and confirmation of attendance too.

I was glad, I really wanted to do this course but also the chance and I do not have a lot in common. When I knew a lot of people were out the course, I considered myself doubly fortunate because these things are the things that happen to other people.

The course starts in November, so I have some time for licking my whiskers thinking about the starting moment, to organize the material I'll need (as my camera manual,...), and to arrange everything for the time available that month will be the maximum and let me studying while I enjoy it.

For those interested in these courses, there will be upcoming dates and Christmas’s class photo announced on her website or/and facebook.
